About the role

What the job is, in plain words.

As our Senior Interior Designer, you’ll lead Belong’s most involved homes from the first conversation to handover: whole-home renovations, new builds and the families with the most to balance. You’ll turn how people really live into a clear concept, a buildable plan and a home that still fits them years from now.

You’ll set the standard for how Belong designs. You’ll review layouts and drawings, guide material and lighting choices, and keep every project true to its brief and its budget. You’ll mentor our Interior Designers and 3D Visualiser, so good judgement spreads across the studio.

You’ll work closely with the founders on our design language, our material library and the way we present to families, and with the Site Supervisor and craft team, so what we draw is what gets built.

  • Lead whole homesOwn complex projects end to end, from brief and concept to drawings, site and handover.
  • Set the design standardReview layouts, drawings and specifications before they reach a family or a site.
  • Present with confidenceWalk families through concepts, 3D views and budgets so every decision feels clear.
  • Balance beauty and budgetMake smart trade-offs in materials, joinery and lighting without losing the idea.
  • Mentor the teamGuide designers through briefs, details and difficult conversations, and share what you know.
  • Shape our design languageGrow our material library, details and styles with the founders.
  • Stay close to siteResolve site questions quickly with the Site Supervisor and craft team.

A Tuesday, roughly

  1. 9:30Review two layouts with a designer. One kitchen gets a better corner.
  2. 11:30A couple can’t agree on the living room. You find the version they both love.
  3. 3:00On site, a column moved the plan. You redraw the wardrobe wall in ten minutes.
  4. 5:30Sketch a new joinery detail for the studio library, then head home.
